Sunny Beach

Sunny Beach

Bulgaria’s biggest beachside resort, Sunny Beach is a Mecca for both local and foreign vacationers who seek clear turquoise water, 8 kilometers of golden sand dunes, and an unimaginably diverse selection of fun activities throughout the day and night. With over a hundred hotels to choose from, in addition to a couple of campsites, Sunny Beach opens its arms wide open to both families seeking safe and sober relaxation, as well as raucous youth looking to sew their wild oats.

If you’re going to Sunny Beach to party, don’t plan to sleep much. The nightlife entertainment here is no accident. Chock full of discos, nightclubs, bars, and music venues, the real challenge comes in having to choose where not to spend hours of pulsing, sweating, dancing summertime madness among your long time (and recently met) friends.

Mania Disco Club, located at Central Alley is a great start because it’s representative of the high standard of live music that has become the pride of Sunny Beach. Here and in countless other rock clubs, young vacationers will find the superbly performed music by both local and foreign greats, whose enchanting melodies and throbbing beats add fuel to the fire of the already-hot party atmosphere.

As the sun rises from the east over the shimmering Black Sea, all-night disco-maniacs may want to cool off in the pacific rippling of the delicious water. For families waking up just about then, do note that the Black Sea has incredibly safe swimming for children as well as adults – very similar to the Mediterranean, waves are effectively non-existent. While long boarders might head to other coasts, the water’s glazed surface presents an innumerable variety of water sports on Sunny Beach as the dry heat of summer blazes down upon the afternoon hours – windsurfing, water skiing, sailing, parasailing and more.

Families often make the pilgrimage to Sunny Beach because of the numerous fun things for kids to do including an extensive maze of waterslides, kiddy pools, mini-golf and trampolines. Of course, parents will want some alone time, which makes 24-hour childcare at Sunny Beach yet another attractive feature at Bulgaria’s biggest resort.

Land sports include volleyball on the beach, tennis, rock wall-climbing cycling and horseback through the scenic Mediterranean hills of Bulgaria’s Black Sea coast that are a major draw tourists from around the world.

And don’t forget to check the date of this year’s Golden Orpheus International Festival of Bulgarian Rock, which combines folkloric spectacles, symphony music, famous pop stars and a variety of exhibitions and fun things to do. If you’re planning to stay at a hotel, rental or timeshare or even campground in Sunny Beach, be sure to book well in advance in order to secure your spot for this once-in-a-lifetime week of revelry.
